The Group of American States (OAS) says the Everlasting Venture of St. Kitts and Nevis has donated the art work “Mosaic – A Woman of Power in an Everyday World” by way of artist Vaughn Anslyn into the everlasting artwork selection of the OAS Artwork Museum of the Americas.

In a rite at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 8, Everlasting Consultant of St. Kitts and Nevis Jacinth Henry-Martin famous that the paintings by way of Vaughn Anslyn is the primary by way of an artist from her nation to go into the everlasting selection of the museum.

She described the paintings as “a testament to our nation’s artistic spirit and cultural identity,” and “an enduring symbol of the depth and quality of our cultural heritage.”

OAS Secretary Basic Luis Almagro thanked the Venture of St. Kitts and Nevis for the donation, pointing out that it was once “a landmark moment for our institution amid the ongoing efforts of the museum to promote the arts of the Caribbean at the OAS.”

Almagro mentioned the donation follows a related formality from St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Anslyn expressed his gratitude for the incorporation of the paintings into the selection of the museum, pointing out that “the piece that you just see ahead of you got here from a deep-rooted sense of urgency, and now not handiest that, however a connection, a deep connection that I percentage with my mom.

“And so, this is my contribution and my dedication to my mother, and I’m eternally grateful that it ended up in a place like this on permanent display,” he added.

The OAS mentioned the paintings by way of Anslyn was once decided on by way of “a juried process among more than a dozen entries that were received in response to a call for entries throughout the country.”

The OAS mentioned the paintings can be exhibited on the Caribbean artwork gallery, arranged and introduced by way of the OAS Artwork Museum of the Americas, within the Delegates Living room of the OAS Major Construction in Washington, D.C.
