No prom night is complete without cheesy posed photographs.
Benny Blanco surprised fiancée Selena Gomez with a prom-themed party after learning she had never been to her own high school senior dance, he revealed in early April while on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
Weeks later, on April 24, Blanco, 37, detailed a photoshoot they did at the mall to commemorate their special night in an Instagram video, simply captioned “wow” and featuring “Just the Two of Us” by Bill Withers and Grover Washington, Jr. as the clip’s soundtrack.
“My fiancée has never been to prom before…so I asked her if we should take prom photos together at a mall…she said yes!” he wrote, adding that he splashed out on a limousine for the special night.
Gomez, 32, wore a purple high-low gown with black tights and booties, pairing the look with a dramatic furry coat. Blanco cleaned up nicely with a black tuxedo and bowtie. They rode their limo to the mall, wearing sweatsuits to conceal their decked-out attire and went right to a photo studio.
“It was more fun than either of us expected it to be,” Blanco continued with some behind-the-scenes moments where he and the Wizards of Waverly Place actress posed with a pedestal against a lavender background.

The end of Blanco’s video featured the posed glamour shots of him and Gomez. Fans were obsessed with Blanco’s creative date idea. “Can all men take notes please?” one fan commented.
“The greenest flag to ever be flown!!!!! We love you Benny!!!!” another wrote. “Did u come straight out of a romance novel or what?” a third fan joked.

On April 7, Blanco told Jennifer Hudson about his prom-themed birthday party that he had in March to make sure his fiancée got a proper prom experience. “Selena had never been to a prom before, so I thought I’d throw us a prom for my birthday,” he said.
Though Blanco said he had gone to prom more than once in his younger years, nothing beat going with Gomez. “Honestly, my favorite prom was with my partner,” he raved.

Blanco said that the Only Murders in the Building actress was nervous about the big night out. “She didn’t even know, she was like, ‘What am I supposed to wear? What am I supposed to do?!’ ” Blanco recalled her saying ahead of the night out. “It was like she was really going to prom.”
The “Call Me When You Break Up” producer said he did get her a corsage — a classic prom move.
