NBA YoungBoy struck a plea deal in his prescription fraud case and will serve 27 months in prison and 60 months on probation.

On November 18, rapper NBA YoungBoy learned his fate in his prescription fraud case after changing his plea to guilty. YoungBoy faced 46 charges in Logan District court and pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery, and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct.

For the other charges, he entered a plea of “no contest.” However, thanks to his plea deal, the four felony charges were downgraded to misdemeanors.

Unfortunately, the popular rapper will serve a lengthy sentence behind bars even with the plea deal.

According to ABC4 Utah, NBA YoungBoy will serve 27 months in Utah federal prison, followed by five years of supervised federal probation.

“This is somewhat of a unique case where there have been multiple jurisdictions involved, both multiple jurisdictions in the federal and the state systems,” said state prosecutor Ronnie Keller. “This is just part, really, a smaller cog in the bigger wheel of ultimately seeking justice.”

In addition to the prison time, YoungBoy was slapped with a $25,000 fine. The prison time is a minor punishment for accusations of defrauding pharmacies of prescription drugs. Also, it was alleged that YB ran the alleged fraud ring out of his multi-million dollar home.

“I’ve seen so many times where you have young men and women who have a lot of talent and potential that they can be robbed of that potential when they start to really struggle with their addictions,” Judge Walsh told Gaulden. “I don’t want that for you.”

Defrauding pharmacies for prescription drugs to feed your drug addiction sounds ridiculous, but when you have fame and power, the world is yours.
