Local closures due to Helene

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Below is a list of local closures due to Helene:

Beaufort County

The Beaufort County Auditor’s Bluffton Office, 4819 Bluffton Parkway, 3rd Floor, will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 27.

Normal office hours will resume at 8:30 a.m., Monday, September 30.

The Beaufort office located in the Administration Building, 100 Ribaut Road, Suite 160, will remain open for regular office hours. 

Candler County

The following Non-Essential Offices of Candler County will be closed on Friday, September 27, 2024. This post will be updated to reflect any additional closures.

Candler County Board of Commissioners
Metter-Candler Recreation Department
Candler County Probate Court
Candler County Elections Office
Candler County UGA Cooperative Extension

Chatham County

All Chatham County offices will close at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and re-open at 10 a.m. Friday.

  • For Superior Court-9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. cases will begin at 10:00 a.m.
    • All other cases will keep the scheduled time
  • For Magistrate Court- 8:45 cases will start at noon
    • 10:00 a.m. cases will start at 10:15 a.m.
    • All other cases will keep the scheduled time
  • For recorders court the 9:00 a.m. docket will be rescheduled.

Coastal Health District 

All offices and clinics in the Coastal Health District will be closed on Thursday and Friday. This includes all health departments in Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh Counties.

Effingham County

County government offices will be closed at 3 p.m. Thursday and all of Friday.

As of 2:30pm Thursday, The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Offices, including the Goshen Substation, will be closed for the rest of the day due to Hurricane Helene.

Glynn County

Glynn County and the City of Brunswick will delay opening county and city buildings on Friday until 10 a.m.

Hinesville

City Hall and all other city facilities will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Richmond Hill

City administrative offices will be closing at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Rincon City

City offices will close at 1 p.m. Thursday and possible closure on Friday.

Second Harvest

Second Harvest has canceled the Mobile Food Pantries scheduled for Evans County (September 26th) and Toombs County (September 27th). If you need food assistance, please visit Second Harvest’s website to locate an agency closest to you.

Springfield City

City offices will close at 1 p.m. on Thursday and will be closed on Friday.
