SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — It’s the ninth week of Friday Night Blitz! With many teams returning back to the field, here’s the rundown of what happened under the Friday night lights this week.

Week 9 saw several close games. The biggest upset of the night was No. 2 Benedictine falling to Ware County, 38-14. The Cadets led 14-3 at one point but gave up the next 35 points.

Another unlikely result happened in Darien, McIntosh County defeated Bryan County, 34-16. Bryan County got on the board first, but McIntosh wrangled the lead from Bryan County.

In the closest game of the night, Beach defeated Johnson, 24-20. Beach led, 14-0, at the half and was able to hang on for its third victory of the season.

In the Lowcountry, May River remained unbeaten with a 35-8 win over Bishop England. May River, ranked No. 4 in Class AAAA, improved to 6-0.
