Surveillance footage has revealed a butcher chased down and stabbed a customer who complained about the meat he was afforded at a supermarket.

As per a Daily Mail report, the incident occurred on October 24 when the unidentified customer visited the supermarket in Aparecida de Goiânia in Brazil to express his dissatisfaction with what he was given after his purchase.

New footage shows the unidentified customer removing the meat from a bag, slamming it onto a counter, and tossing the bag at the 25-year-old-butcher.

The Butcher was far from delighted with what was thrown at him and responded by chasing the customer down an aisle as alarmed shoppers looked on.

The video shows the customer retreated near a produce display, and the butcher then stabbed him in the chest, puncturing his lung.

The victim was rushed to a nearby urgent medical center and was later transferred to Aparecida de Goiânia State Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

For now, he remains hospitalized and is responding to treatment, according to his wife.

“It was his 23-year-old son’s birthday, and he went to buy some meat at the supermarket,” his wife told TV Anhanguera. “When he got home and checked the meat, it wasn’t what he ordered. He’s been a butcher for 30 years, so he knows meat very well.”

The day after October 25, the butcher was then arrested at his home in a joint operation by the Goiás Military and Civil Police.

Civil Police Chief Thiago de Oliveira described the incident as “an alarming display of almost taking a life over something so trivial,” as quoted by O Popular newspaper.

The butcher appeared before a judge on October 26 and was released on bail with the condition that he wear an electronic ankle monitor while awaiting trial.
