Bryan County opens 2 weather refuges

BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV)—Weather refuges will be open at 6 p.m. on Thursday for those that need it in Richmond Hill and Pembroke.

The weather refuges will open on Thursday at 6 p.m. and will remain open until Friday at 5 p.m. They will be located at Mikell Foxworth Gym, 104 Ash Branch Rd in Pembroke and Timber Trail Gym, at 508 Timber Trail in Richmond Hill.


Richmond Hill: How to prepare for Hurricane Helene

If you live in a mobile home or other structure that may not be safe, you can seek refuge in these locations. You need to arrive at the refuges before midnight since the weather may be unsafe to travel after then.

Bring essential items such as chairs, cots, mats, pillows, blankets, medication, food and entertainment. No food, showers or access to electrical outlets will be provided.
