Chatham County’s cooling centers will be places to recharge your devices so you can stay connected, or if you just need to get out of the heat for a bit to recharge yourself, they said. However, Savannah is experiencing some of the damaging effects such as downed power lines and trees, power outages and damaged property. There were 14 more registered sex offenders living in Liberty County in August compared to the previous month, according to the Georgia Sex Offenders Registry.Overall, 203 registered sex offenders were living in the county at the time.The Registry shows that seven of these sex offenders are sexual predators. SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Former Savannah Police officer Ernest Ferguson has turned himself in to authorities at the Chatham County Jail. Officials tell WSAV Ferguson turned himself over to police around 3:30 p.m. on Friday with his attorney with him. He will appear in court sometime next week for a bond hearing. On Wednesday, the Chatham County District Attorney officially charged Ferguson with the murder of Saudi Lee, a Black man who was shot and killed during a police chase in 2022.
