THOMASTON, Ga. (WJBF) – The Georgia High School Association announced Tuesday that a week will be added to the football regular season to allow schools time to make up games postponed by Hurricane Helene. The final week of the regular season will now be Friday, Nov. 8. The state playoffs will now begin the following Friday and Saturday. The bye week originally scheduled for Thanksgiving week will be replaced by the quarterfinals. The semi-finals and championship dates are unaffected.
