HS Fball: Benedictine locks up third spot in Region 1-AAAA

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Benedictine football team defeated New Hampstead, 44-22, on Oct. 31 at Memorial Stadium.

New Hampstead pulled within two points, 17-15, in the second quarter. However, the final two minutes of the first half were the changing point in the game. Benedicinte scored 17 straight points to end the half. The Cadets led 34-15.

Benedictine closes out the regular season 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the region. The Cadets’ next game will be on the road in the first round of the playoffs.

New Hampstead drops to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the region. The Phoenix have one more game. They travel to Ware County on Nov. 8.
