USCโs star player JuJu Watkins reportedly signed an extension with Nike for โone of the richest endorsement deals in womenโs basketballโ.
Womenโs basketball is hotter than ever with the ceiling of interest nowhere in sight. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese advanced the WNBA to previously unknown heights and college basketball is producing new stars. One of the most debated Womenโs basketball players is USC phenom, JuJu Watkins.
Last season JuJu placed USC on her back and quickly proved she is indeed โone of them ones.โ
To paint the picture as clearly as possible she averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game as a freshman. Furthermore, she was second in scoring only behind the Indiana Feverโs Caitlin Clark who became NCAAโs all-time leading scorer.
According to CBS Sports, Nike is already sold on JuJuโs greatness and is ready to do business for the foreseeable future. ESPN insider Shams Charania revealed JuJu Watkins and Nike inked a contract extension that is reportedly one of the richest deals in womenโs basketball.
Unfortunately, the exact numbers for the endorsement deal havenโt been released.
However, Caitlin Clark signed an 8-year $28M deal earlier this year which could suggest just how much JuJu bagged on the extension. With the upcoming season starting shortly Juju and UCONNโs Paige Beuckers will lead womenโs NCAA basketball to new heights.
