Booming Economy: Georgia saw another year of new jobs and expansions. During fiscal year 2024 (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024) there were nearly 430 facility expansions and new locations supported by the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce division, which resulted in more than $20.3 billion in investment and 26,900 new private-sector jobs. Some 83% of those announcements happened outside of Metro Atlanta, while the 10-county region surrounding the capital city saw nearly $7.8 billion in investments.

Cobb Relocation: Gas South recently relocated its headquarters to The Battery Atlanta. The 31,000-square-foot space next to Truist Park has been designed for the company’s hybrid work model. The relocation will also mean closer proximity to Gas South’s partner, the Atlanta Braves, and the Braves Development Company headquarters.

Aviation Support: Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently opened its expanded customer support service center at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. The company invested more than $150 million into the 367,000-square-foot Savannah Service Center East, which in total has added more than 200 new jobs.

Montezuma Investment: Fresh meal delivery company FreshRealm Inc. is expanding in Macon County. The $6.3 million investment will create more than 300 new jobs. The expansion will add enhancements and several new lines to expand its products, which include ready-to-heat and ready-to-cook meals and meal kits.

Rincon Logistics: Belgian heavy equipment producer Aertssen Logistics recently opened a processing and logistics services location in Effingham County. The 35-acre equipment processing center will provide indoor and outdoor storage, logistics services and technical services for manufacturers of agriculture, mining andm construction machinery.

New Concept: South African restaurant group Nando’s recently opened the first two locations of its peri-peri chicken concept in Georgia, the latest additions to its more than 1,200 locations around the world. The new restaurants are at the High Street development in Dunwoody and The Forum in Peachtree Corners.
