SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) โ€“ Hurricane Helene caused widespread damage, power outages and even deaths across the area.

In response, the United Way of the Coastal Empire has activated its Rapid Response Disaster Fund for Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty and Long counties.

Donations to the fund will help provide critical response and recovery support to residents impacted.

To donate, visit uwce.org/rapidresponse, call 211 or email 211@uwce.org.

If you need assistance, you can visit here, call 211 (Mon-Fri from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.) or email 211@uwce.org. Note that due to limited staff and high call volume, you may need to allow 24-48 business hours for a response.

Likewise, the United Way of the Lowcountry teams are standing by to help residents find the resources they need in Beaufort and Jasper counties. Visit sc211.org or call 211 or 843-524-4357.

WSAV will keep this page updated with other ways you can help in these counties and neighboring areas.
