SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – First responders are on the scene of a building collapse on Broughton Street in downtown Savannah.

The building includes The Ordinary Pub and an unknown number of residential homes.

News 3 is told everyone made it out of the building safely and no injuries have been reported.

Between 2 and 3 a.m. Friday, the roof fell through the third floor of the building and into the second floor, according to the Savannah Fire Department.

Crews are working to secure the building at this time.

“We were walking out to an alarm that sounded like way more extravagant than usual,” said a neighbor, Luke Thompson. “And so I ran and got my roommate and we were able to make our way outside and find some of the other tenants.”

Thompson said they were able to save some of the animals that were stuck in the building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for Chatham County as Hurricane Helene moves through the state.
