Will Smith solidifies his legacy as Philadelphia’s homeland hero with a boulevard renamed in his honor.


Will Smith’s homeland has paid tribute to him in a major manner by way of renaming a Philadelphia boulevard in his honor.

The Academy Award-winning actor returned to his homeland of Philadelphia on March 26, status out of doors his alma mater, Overbrook Prime College, as town unveiled “Will Smith Way” at the 2000 oppose of North 59th Boulevard, CBS Information experiences. Smith were given deep throughout his accent pace reflecting on his Philadelphia upbringing and the moment courses that formed his values of dried paintings, training, and repair to others—rules instilled in him by way of his mom, father, and grandmother.

As we rename 2000 N. 59th Street in Will’s honor today, let’s celebrate everything he represents — creativity, kindness, and the power of community.” 

The road renaming comes simply ahead of Smith’s upcoming album, Primarily based On a True Tale. His first full-length leave since 2005’s Misplaced and Discovered, the book marks the primary installment of a three-part line all set to debut beneath SLANG Recordings.
